Ассимиляционная емкость экосистемы

Ассимиляционная ёмкость экосистемы — показатель максимальной динамической вместимости количества загрязняющего вещества, которое может быть за единицу времени накоплено, разрушено, трансформировано и выведено за пределы экосистемы без нарушения нормальной её деятельности.

Величина А.е.э. зависит от множества природных и антропогенных факторов, физических и химических свойств загрязняющего вещества; однако, решающую роль при этом играют биологические процессы.

Напр., при практической оценке А.е. океана можно выделить 3 основных процесса: гидродинамику, микробиологическое окисление органических загрязняющих веществ, биоседиментацию. Термин предложен Ю.А. Израэлем.
