Карантин

Карантин — система государственных или местных мероприятий, обеспечивающая предупреждение:

1) распространения инфекционных заболеваний человека и животных (путём изоляции больных, запрещения въезда или выезда из зоны, поражённой инфекцией, предотвращения вывоза животных, которые могут оказаться больными, и др. Мероприятий);

2)проникновения нежелательных видов в места, где они пока не обитают, предупреждение проникновения из-за рубежа или из смежных изолированных местностей, например островов, опасных вредителей, возбудителей болезней и сорняков.

Карантин осуществляется карантинной службой; соответствующего заболевания и виды носят название карантинных.
