Северо-восток США готовится к резкому похолоданию

В Бостоне, крупнейшем городе Новой Англии, объявлено чрезвычайное положение. На северо-востоке США в ночь на субботу и до конца дня воскресенья ожидается резкое похолодание, сопровождаемое сильным ветром. По прогнозам NOAA, температура воздуха в ночные часы в городе может опуститься до −23...−25°, а скорость ветра при этом достигать 23–25 м/с.

При этом в государственном парке Маунт-Вашингтон в Нью-Гэмпшире, в горной местности, похолодание может достигнуть −43°, а скорость ветра может превысит 40 м/с.

По данным синоптиков, похолодание не будет продолжительным, и уже в начале следующей недели температура на северо-востоке США повысится до положительных значений.

На юге США продолжают устранять последствия сильного зимнего шторма с сильным гололёдом и мокрым снегом, который обрушился на Техас в середине текущей недели и привёл к многочисленным повреждениям воздушных линий электропередачи и образованию скользкой ледяной корки на автомобильных дорогах. По данным энергетических компаний, более 450 тыс домов и предприятий в Техасе, Арканзасе, Миссисипи и Теннесси в начале четверга остались без электричества после того, как полдюйма (1,3 см) льда в некоторых местах повалили линии электропередач и деревья.
