Синэкология — раздел экологии, исследующий биотические сообщества и их взаимоотношения со средой обитания: формирование сообществ, их энергетику, структуру, динамику, историческое развитие, взаимодействие с физико-химическими и биотическими факторами среды (внутренними и внешними для сообщества), биологическая продуктивность, круговорот веществ, воздействие человека и т.д.
