Биогеография — научная отрасль, изучающая общие географические закономерности мира земли: распределение растительного покрова и животного населения различных частей земного шара, их сочетания, флористические и фаунистические подразделения суши и океана, а также распространение биоценозов и входящих в них видов растений, животных, грибов и микроорганизмов.
