Бессточная область

Бессточная область — область внутриматерикового стока, лишённая связи через речные системы с океаном. Обычно расположена в аридных зонах, а также на территориях с плоским рельефом.

Большая часть воды гидрографической сети удаляется внутренним дренажом. Обладает способностью к аккумуляции загрязняющих веществ. Примером Б.о. в тропической зоне служат бассейны Нигера и Ориноко.
