Бентос

Бентос — совокупность организмов, всю жизнь или большую её часть обитающих над не океанических и континентальных водоёмов, в его грунте и на грунте. Различают фитобентос и зообентос.

Организмы бентоса служат объектами питания многим рыбам и другим водным животным, имеющим хозяйственное значение. Самостоятельное промысловое значение имеют устрицы, морские гребешки, омары, речные раки, крабы и т.д.
