Очистка — 1. Устранение посторонних и нежелательных веществ с поверхности или из объёма какого-либо объекта (атмосферы, воды, сырья и т.п.).

2. Освобождение твёрдых, жидких и газообразных отходов от загрязняющих окружающую среду вредных примесей (т.е. очистка отходов от нежелательных компонентов).
