Олигоценоз — биотическое сообщество, в состав которого входит лишь несколько видов растений — продуцентов, реже животных; например, нередко на берегах морей и на пустынных солонцах растительное сообщество состоит из немногих видов солянок, в состав устричных банок входит 1-2 вида моллюсков.
