Обеззараживание — уменьшение до предельно допустимых норм загрязнения и заражения территории, объектов, воды, продовольствия, пищевого сырья и кормов радиоактивными и опасными химическими веществами путём дезактивации, дегазации и демеркуризации, а также опасными биологическими веществами путём дезинфекции и детоксикации.
